PRE-RACE GUIDED MEDITATION WITH BONNIE FROM RISE
If you’re likely to be feeling nervous on race morning, come along to our pre-race guided meditation session with Bonnie Rasmussen from Rise.
The 20-minute visualisation is designed to get your mind in a great place and gain focus. It aims to reduce doubts, anxieties, negative chatter and unwanted muscle tension – which will all contribute towards helping you to run with more confidence and joy. As you will be still for 20 minutes, we recommend that you consider wearing a warmer layer to keep your body temperature at a comfortable level.
Arrival at 08:00 is recommended as the session will start promptly at 08:10. The session will end at 08:30 to allow plenty of time for you to discard bags / warm layers next door, participate in the warm-up and ultimately get to the start line in time for the Half Marathon start at 09:00.
Due to the nature of the session, the number of places are limited. Reserving your place is essential – please do so in advance HERE.
POST-RACE STRETCH WITH DOWNWARD DOUG
A native of Botswana and now London-based, lululemon ambassador Doug Robson qualified as a stuntman 7 years ago after training extensively in martial arts, gymnastics and platform diving.
Doug first took up yoga as a form of therapy after suffering a back injury and, following his teacher training course, has developed a yoga flow (mixing martial arts and yoga) that is as unique as his background. Follow @thedownwarddoug on Instagram if you’d like to learn more about him and his practice.
Downard Doug will be running X2 30 minute stretch sessions in the Wurtzler room after the run. The sessions will be run on a first-come, first-served basis, so make sure to arrive with plenty of time if you would like to take part. The sessions will take place at the following times:
10:45 – 11:15
11:30 – 12:00
