Community – Volunteers
Our aat: community has evolved into an integrated support network – uniting participants, partners, ambassadors and crew – to enhance the overall aat: event experience.
Our aat event crew are an integral part of our community – they are at every single aat: event after all! Without the commitment and hard graft of our volunteers, we simply wouldn’t be able to deliver our events to the same standard as we do. Whether you’re looking for events experience, skills / voluntary work to add to your CV, or simply to earn free event entry, everyone is welcome to join our team of aat: event crew. No experience is necessary – we will cater to your needs and provide you with the support you need to excel.

Why volunteer?
✅ Earn free aat: events entry
✅ Meet other like-minded and local people
✅ Actively support events and other participants
✅ Gain valuable events experience
✅ Voluntary work for your CV, D of E awards or similar
✅ It’s less hassle than you might think…

The perks...
All volunteers are rewarded with a unique free entry code (valid for 2 uses) for each event you help at. Exclusions apply (eg Surrey Half Marathon). 15 spaces are reserved at each event for volunteers to redeem their free entry. Please let us know if your plans change so we can re-allocate the space.
Regular volunteers have priority for “Reg then Run” opportunities (helping out on registration / in the car park, participating in the event, then returning to help pack up). We also reward our regulars with dedicated social events (trips to the pub, escape room etc), pin badges and more.

How you can help...
Everyone is welcome to join our team and earn free aat: event entry. There are a whole range of roles available – from handing out medals to directing (and cheering) runners out on the course. No experience is necessary – we will cater to your needs and provide you with the support you need.
You are welcome to specify any preferences or skills in the “notes” section when you register (eg I’m helping with my friend, I am first aid trained, I can’t read a map). If you’ve helped out on events before, we’ll tend to give you the same responsibilities where possible unless you tell us that you’d like to try something new.

What now?
Register to help at specific events or if you can’t commit just yet you can simply register your interest.
Detail any specific needs/requests in the “notes” section when you register (eg I have time constraints, I have kids in tow…); we will endeavour to accommodate these wherever possible. Ensure you also detail any medical conditions that would influence the role we put you in (eg I’m on crutches, I have a severe nut allergy…)

When you register to help at specific events, we are expecting you to attend and will allocate you a role.
