New Trees For 2021 ?
Do you find that you have too many medals to keep at home? Perhaps you even end up throwing some away.
aat: events are teaming up with Tees Not Trees to offer you the option to plant new trees, instead of receiving a medal. This option will be available across all events that take place in 2021.
How does it work?
If you select the tree planting option on the entry form, £1 of your entry fee will automatically go to Trees Not Tees. For every £10 that is donated, Trees Not Tees will plant 3 new trees.
After each event, they will send us a summary of how many new trees have been planted, along with a picture and information about the species. If you have made a contribution, this information will be shared with you via email. You can also check out the aat: events Facebook page for regular updates.
Where are the trees?
Tees Not Trees have purchased land in Scotland, and are already planting a native forest of oak, birch, rowan and alder. We will receive an exact geo-location of aat: trees via what3words.
Reducing Medal Wastage
Not only does this partnership enable us to take more carbon dioxide out of the air, but it will also reduce medal wastage. Due to the advanced ordering required to get your medals ready for the finish line, we often have a surplus of medals. Identifying the participants who want a medal in advance will increase the accuracy of our medal orders.
