First things first.

Park in the Nursery Car Park, leave you kit in your car and come up to the top car park to Registration. Pick up your timing chip and bike number. Pop your timing chip on your wrist straight away so you don’t loose it, and pop the bike sticker around your cable! Grab your kit from the car and head to the transition zone on the astroturf pitch.

Rack your bike on one of the racking bars. The racking isn’t numbered, so just choose a spot. Lay out your bike and run kit next to your bike. You’ll need to be wearing your swim kit and have your goggles and hat with you.

Take a walk and work out where you’ll come into transition from your swim and how you’ll get out onto the bike course. Remember where your bike is within transition (it often helps to count racking lines).

Head to the pool in good time for your swim start. (You’ll be sent your start time before race day).

The Swim – Bike Transition.

Out of the pool and back to transition, you’ll run barefoot from the pool to transition – this is part of the fun of triathlon! It’s mainly on grass.

Goggles and cap off, grab your helmet, change any clothes you want to for the cycle element, pop your bike shoes on, and make your way to the start of the bike course. No cycling in transition – run with your bike to the transition mount/dismount zone (this will be clearly marked).

The Bike-Run Transition.

As you come in from your bike ride, think about where your kit for the run is in transition and how to get there quickly and efficiently. You will need to dismount when the marshal tells you in the bike mount/dismount zone and run into transition with your bike to your spot in transition.

Rack your bike, leave your helmet and swap shoes if needed. Then it’s out onto the run course!

After the run section it’s time for your grand finish. Congratulations!
