Join our volunteer team and you’ll get free entry to aat events forever!
Our volunteers are the heart and soul of every race, none of which could be staged without their hard work and dedication. They’re there to cheer on the athletes and make sure everyone completes the course safely We’ve been extremely fortunate to be able to call upon a fantastic pool of volunteers and are always on the lookout for more volunteers to help build the team.
Are you injured? Would you like free entry to future events?
We offer lifetime free entry for all volunteer marshals. If you can’t take part and you’d like to give something back to your sport, then marshalling could be perfect for you. In return for helping out, our marshals get free entry into any future aat event.
What roles are there?
We try and rotate our volunteer marshals so that everyone experiences every role during the course of a season. We also cater to the individual’s preference (can’t walk, can’t stand etc). Race day roles include: registration, winner management, race course control, water station, car parking and course sweeper. We also need people to hand out flyers for us at other local events and parkruns!
What are the perks?
We always try to put on a great cooked breakfast after the race and of course food and drink throughout the event is available. You’ll get free entry to any aat event (this can also be passed on to a friend). Marshals also receive a huge amount of appreciation from athletes! There’s also the bonus of an invite to our twice-yearly volunteer social events.
How does it all work?
Every month or so we will send you an email outlining upcoming volunteer opportunities . Check your diary and let us know if you’re available. Closer to the event date maps and instructions are sent out specifying times, locations and your specific responsibilities. We will be in close contact before and during the event, so you’ll feel fully supported in your job. We often require volunteer marshals to be onsite early but we won’t expect you to hang around for long. Unless you’re interested in a cooked breakfast and catch up.
