New for 2018 aat are delivering an event to support local mental health charities. By entering the Wey Ahead event on 19th May you’ll be contributing to five charities all doing great work including CornerHouse in Woking. Join our 4.5km family walk route, or walk or run 25 or 32km along the Basingstoke Canal and River Wey.

CornerHouse aim to support people to improve their mental health and empower them to make wellbeing choices through the provision of support groups, activities and one to one services. A key part of their work is offering a safe space for adults ages 18+, affected by mental ill health, to meet other people, build confidence and feel understood. CornerHouse currently supports over 640 active users and passionately believes that mental health support should be accessible to all members of the community. Therefore, it is really important that people can easily self-refer to their services and pay no fees to attend.

CornerHouse have established a walk for health scheme as a result of users’ concerns that their poor physical health was negatively impacting their mental health, and, as a result, they now have a large group of regular members who join walks come rain or shine.
