GUTS Ultra and Half Marathon

Fundraising for the GUTS charity was fun when we delivered this epic run. A 58km Ultra trail run from Barnes London to Guildford High Street. Route planning was thorough and adventurous as we found off road trails all the way, whilst minimising the major road crossings. (We found an underpass under the M25.) 6 aid stations packed with a variety of nutrition including: cream cheese spread, salty crisps, cucumber sticks and melons, and a crew working all hours along the route to ensure the safety of the runners. The Half Marathon start was started off at 10am to coincide with finishers of the Ultra runners.

Raising over £20,000 each year from 200 walkers, aat events were asked to modify the existing event. With this in mind we redesigned the 3 different distance routes to maximise the use of the famous sights of Oxford town centre. The route now includes more walking along the canals and past more special points of interest and reduces the need for volunteer route marshals.

Each route was risk assessed and developed with Parkinsons to create a new and exciting experience. Fundraisers keep returning to this event because of the changing routes and new ideas.

The Royal Marsden

The London to Brighton and back sportive is sponsored by Londons greatest bike specialist Pearson's. aat events are contracted to deliver the major fund raising event of The Royal Marsden to facilitate the route management. aat events manage all route planning, build the 190km route signage, manage the 3 aid stations, provide staffing and food for these, and ensure the safety of all riders. No-one got lost. First aid suppliers, risks assessments and all route logistics are delivered by the aat events crew.

Guest celebrity Victoria Pendleton led the cyclists out on their route that meandered through the beautiful Kent countryside. aat managed the feed stations, gained all necessary permissions, complied with the British Cycling guidelines, developed the Event Guide in line with the British Standards, managed chip timing and all other 3rd party suppliers.

After a safety brief riders slip out of London on a 70-100km ride around the Surrey Hills. 3 aid stations are set up for re-fueling the riders, with King of the Hill timing challenges set up out on the route. Riders return to London for more refreshments. A full safety risk assessment, event planning documents, course planning and logistical plan is devised to ensure everyone has a great day out.
