Nutrition tips to ensure you have a great time at the Surrey Sportives on 28th June and 16th August!

Nutrition during training – Practice your event day nutrition on training rides.

Leading up to the event – Fill your energy and hydration stores. Drink plenty and eat foods such as rice, pasta, potatoes and bread.

Event day – East a good carb-rich breakfast to ensure you reach the start line fully fuelled!

During your ride – Your main requirements will be hydration (water and electrolytes) and fuel from carbohydrates. Eat small amounts regularly and remember to stay hydrated. Remember to take of advantage of the drink, homemade cake and bananas at the feedstations.

Post event – Recovery foods should include carbohydrates and some protein to help restoration of muscle fibres.
