Over the summer aat-events have been demonstrating their ability to manage local community events with thousands of attendees proving that we don’t just organise successful running and triathlon events.

We provided event management and control room services to support Woking Borough Council at Party in the Park (Woking) and Woking Food Festival helping the events run safe and smoothly. Our team of professional and experienced staff have performed roles of Site Manager, Event Silver (Safety Director), NEBOSH qualified Health and Safety Manager, Control Room Loggist and Zone Managers around the sites.

Party in the Park was a fantastic community event held in Woking Park which attracted over 20,000 visitors throughout the day back in July. There were two stages with music and dance acts performing and a range of activities across the site in the Main Field, Bandstand Field, Sports and Kids Zones. It also featured a fun fair, parade and a screening of The Greatest Showman to finish off the day in style!

Woking Food Festival was a spectacular three day food event featuring over 70 traders in Woking Town Centre. Jubilee Square and the surrounding streets were packed with visitors tasting various food and drink from local suppliers and around the globe. There were technical demonstrations by famous chefs, musical acts and a very entertaining chilli eating competition which culminated in a thrilling finish after 16 chillis had been consumed by the final pair. We were lucky that this event was truly on our office doorstep in Woking town centre.

We were delighted to show our ability to manage these types of community events by providing experienced staff capable of managing the site safely during install and de-rig, leading briefings and site inductions, motivating teams and solving complex event issues.

Leading the event control room at these events we also demonstrated our ability to build excellent working relationships with Security, Medics and other key event functional areas creating a friendly and dynamic team atmosphere. We extend a special thanks to the event team at Woking Borough Council who were fantastic to work with.

If you have an upcoming events requiring additional staff or site management coming up please do get in touch with Rob Sweetman on to discuss how aat-events can help you.

After a brilliant summer we now look forward to our new Surrey run Guildford 10k which will showcase the wonderful cobbled Guildford High Street in a closed road running event for the first time.
