On Friday 1 November aat events were delighted to bring volunteers, sponsors and staff to a HIIT session at the new UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) gym in Woking which has recently opened this autumn.
The HIIT class involved 3 circuits of 5 stations including activities on the rower and battle ropes all lead by a friendly and knowledgeable class leader to help motivate and explain the exercises.
We were hooked up to a heart monitor which showed the effort level and heart rate of the participants on a screen in the gym making it ideal to challenge yourself and see how hard you are working. Heart rate, calories burnt and other statistics are all emailed to you at the end of the session and part of the fun is comparing your results with friends or colleagues after the session.
We would like to thank UFC for hosting the session and were pleased to be able to offer some fun activities and reward some of our volunteers that enable us to put on fantastic running events.
The session also promoted the importance of healthy activity in the workplace and we had colleagues attend from Mercer, a global consultancy business based in Woking who are our title partner of the annual Surrey Half organised by aat events.
We encourage everyone to give the new UFC gym a try and you can find out more information at their website here: https://classufcgym.co.uk/about-ufc-class
