The end of the year is fast approaching, so we want to take the opportunity to thank everyone who’s contributed to making 2018 a fantastic year at aat-events.
The feedback that we have received from participants has very much been a testament to the committed, passionate and early rising (!!) team who have helped us deliver events to the usual, very high standard expected at aat-events.
In true aat fashion, we’ve somehow managed so far to organise the weather to be in our favour for another year. The year started with Gemma and co.🌟 breaking ice forming across the top of the water barrels at the Fitstuff G3. Fortunately, we also avoided a battering from “Beast from the East” at The Mercer Surrey Half Marathon in March.
Fast forward to October which saw Storm Callum cause havoc at Windsor Castle the day before the British Beer Run – Windsor. Fortunately, the weather subsided for the duration of the event – which was a very busy, but gloriously sunny day. A special thanks to Kyra for managing an incredibly busy registration and finish line – but above all for volunteering at almost all aat-events this year. Gold star for you. 🌟
Then just a couple of weeks ago, a number of you came to help out at our race through Chessington World of Adventures – which thankfully (unlike last year) – turned out to be another beautiful day. We can’t talk about this event without giving a special mention to Susan 🌟 for her enthusiastic hi-fives and Minnie Mouse ears. We certainly made the most of the free entry to the park afterwards and hope you did too!
We now have just one aat-event left in 2018: The Hogs Back Road Race on 2 December – we hope to see you there!
Most of you have already heard the news that we will be delivering the Weybridge 10km on 23 June – which is one of the many exciting plans we have for 2019. We look forward to sharing some more exciting plans with you soon.
If you can help out at any of our events, please click the blue “volunteer at this event” buttons on each of the event pages. You can also join our volunteers facebook group.
