Here at aat, we love it when you know your workout has earned you the right to have a guilt free treat. Although we aren’t traditionally fans of counting calories, we were inspired by one of The Cycling Bug’s recent blog posts, and so we thought we’d make our own calculations for our Longleg Sportive cyclists. So whilst you’re out getting the miles in ahead of our Longleg Sportive on 20th August, why not plan in a cake stop along the way?

Take part in a fully supported, non-competitive road cycle ride along the undulating roads of the Surrey/Hampshire border. You have 3 courses to choose from: a long, medium and a short course. All routes will explore the lesser-known country lanes and rolling roads of North Hampshire, and you’ll be rewarded with plenty of cake!

Grande – 76.7 miles / 3822 feet of climbing. VIEW ROUTE

Venti – 53 miles / 2943 feet of climbing. VIEW ROUTE

Primo – 23.6 miles / 1470 feet of climbing. VIEW ROUTE

Babyccino – 13 miles. Ideal for those aged 10-15 years.

 

1 Hour Spin at Freedom Leisure = 1 Whole Pizza

It’s pretty wet and cold out there at the moment, so we don’t blame you for not getting out on the dangerous roads at the moment. Although most cyclists will prefer to get out on the roads, a spin class on a cold or rainy day is a great alternative, and an average calorie burn of 650 calories will earn you the right to chow down on some cheesy doughy naughtiness. If you’re feeling good though, you could always make your own healthier version…

 

Hill Training = 1 Pint of Beer and 1 Packet of Crisps

No one knows monstrous hills like our Route Master Rory. Check out the routes for our Longleg sportive and choose a great hill to conquer. It doesn’t take long and could see you burning around 350 calories, enough to get in a round at the pub.

 

Longleg Venti 53 Mile Ride = Curry

Your weekend long ride will definitely seem worth it when you can indulge in around 1,000 calories of curry – with the trimmings.

 

Guildford to aat HQ = Chocolate Cake

A half an hour cycle to work at a fairly slow pace to allow for traffic will still see you burning 300 calories. So if you work in Woking, join team aat as we commute in from Guildford. Our local haunt for a slice of cake and a cuppa is the “Our Cosy Cafe.” We’re big fans of their Cinnamon Toast too!

 

 

Longleg Primo 23.6 Mile Ride = Antipasto

This distance will earn you around 500 calories, so why not have a mini continental feast to treat yourself?!
