We welcome Canicross athletes and dogs at The Bolt and The Hurt. Unfortunately we are unable to offer canicross places at Hard As Snails 2017.
What is Canicross
Canicross is the sport of running off-road with your dog. The sport provides a physical workout for your dog as well as a fantastic bonding experience whilst you enjoy the great outdoors together. For our events, we ask that you please wear a waistbelt (which attaches via a 2-metre bungee line to a padded dog harness) and have prepared and practised directional commands with your dog(s).
You must be proficient at running with a suitable dog(s).
You must be aware that most spectators and runners do not like running with or being near dogs. Please ensure that your dog(s) are under control and well-behaved, and do not upset other runners, spectators or dogs!
You must clear up after your dog. Please bring appropriate provisions for doing so.
You must use appropriate equipment such as a harness. No dog leads please.
Please abide by the standards of the Canicross industry.
Understand that Canicross spaces are limited at event for insurance purposes. Please book in advance to avoid disappointment. If you decide on race day not to bring your dog please let us/the timing company know.
We ask that Canicross runners should try to car park together.
Please be aware that the Canicross start time is generally 10-15 minutes earlier than the first regular running race time.
