Guildford and Godalming Athletics Club are delighted to welcome back Fitstuff and Guildford Sports Clinic as sponsors of their 57-year-old Hogs Back Road Race – which is delivered by award-winning race organisers aat-events.

The historic fundraising event is Guildford’s favourite road run; welcoming over 1000 runners each year to it’s majestic start line at Loseley House. The race boasts UKA affiliation, the “Gold Award” from the British Association of Road Running, and holds the “Top Rated Event” badge on racecheck.

In recognition of the event’s increasing popularity, a number of exciting new features have been added to the race, including a fuel station, a pacing team and a “try before you buy” service which has been arranged by Fitstuff.

Fitstuff – Guildford’s premier running shop – are giving runners the opportunity to trial ON running trainers at the event. The trainers, described as “the world’s most comfortable performance shoes”, feature a revolutionary and award-winning design. Instead of “correcting” gait like many other specialist trainers, supports the individual’s natural running movement thanks to their patented CloudTec® cushioning. Various styles and sizes of ON trainers will be available to trial and purchase from Fitstuff’s pop-up shop at the event on a “first come, first served” basis.

Fitstuff is considered a “running haven” for the town and surrounding communities; offering the largest range of running shoes, clothing and accessories in the area. Their friendly staff are all regular runners, and personally test all the products they stock so that they can share in-depth knowledge and provide excellent customer service. They also offer a free professional trainer-fitting service.

The shop is also home to a free Wednesday evening and Friday morning run club. A swarm of runners sporting their “racing yellow” Fitstuff t-shirts race all over Guildford; rotating between “tempo”, “interval”, “hill” and “social” themed training runs each week.

Fitstuff host a number of fantastic events too, which recently included a “Hill Running Workshop” with Matt Buck (founder of Running Adventures). Next up is a “Q&A Evening” with local endurance runner Susie Chan.

To top it all off, Fitstuff have an in-house sports clinic! Situated in the LG floor of the shop, Guildford Sports Clinic specialise in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries and musculo-skeletal disorders. Their qualified staff offer a range of treatments from osteopathy to sports massage. Guildford Sports Clinic will offer sports massage at The Hogs Back Road Race on 10th December 2017.

Fitstuff are headline sponsor to aat-events’ flagship trail running series: The Fitstuff G3, of which Guildford Sports Clinic is also a partner. Both are also partners with a number of other aat-events, including The Bolt and Hard As Snails.

Those wanting to take part in The Hogs Back Road Race urged to secure one of the limited race places as soon as possible.
